Megacorp TCG Set 1 CORE SET Release Notes


 

ASCENDANT PALM

  • Pattern attacks are restricted to only the network the character is in. It will not hit characters on another network.

AZRIELLE, INDEPENDENT ENFORCER

  • If you reveal an unethical action. You cannot play it.

BASILISK

  • Basilisk creates a delayed trigger. Even if Basilisk dies, the cards that were attacked or blocked will still be destroyed.

BATTLE ANGEL

  • Battle Angel chooses X Targets when challenging with IQ or BQ, where X is her score. She challenges all of them and all of them can be blocked or retaliate.

  • Battle Angel has to assign at least 1 Damage to each target.

  • If Battle Angel’s IQ is reduced to less than the number of targets chosen. Distribute as much damage as possible. Same for BQ.

CHI, CORP SOCIALITE

  • Chi creates an effect that sets the value of any of her traits to whatever her EQ score is.

  • If her EQ score changes after her ability has resolved. The chosen trait will also be affected.

COMMERCIAL 3D PRINTER

  • The Token has all properties of the card it copies, down to valuation.

CORP MARTIAL ARTIST

  • If the searched event doesn’t require targets, simply play it without paying its cost.

CRITICAL HIT

  • Multiple critical hits will only multiply the base damage, so if you’re using two critical hits on an attack that deals two BQ it will deal 2 + 2 + 2 damage for a total of 6.

DONATION

  • You cannot play another card named Donation, even if another card tells you to do so.

DOOMBEAST

  • The Bonding is mandatory

  • If you cannot bond it such as there being no terrain in play, nothing happens.

ECONOMIC HITMAN

  • All “When Deployed” effects happen when you redeploy an asset.

  • If the Asset goes to the Open Market, Economic Hitman will Redeploy it.

GNOST CLERIC

  • Can be your opponent’s counters.

GNOST MARTIAL ARTIST

  • If the searched event doesn’t require targets, simply play it without paying its cost.

HEAVEN'S EDGE

  • Heaven’s Edge BQ damage will always be 1 higher than the receiver’s BQ.

  • The damage is dealt normally, taking into account any preventions or reducing effects.

ILLITHIS, GNOST PROPHET

  • Illithis’ Ability happens whenever she is deployed by any reason.

INCARNATE MARTIAL ARTIST

  • If the searched event doesn’t require targets, simply play it without paying its cost.

LUKE SETI, MEMADAPT

  • Luke Seti’s ability checks how many -1 BQ counters your business has upon resolution. If for some reason you remove all -1 BQ counters you will search for an event with cost 0.

  • While Luke Seti can fetch any event with #Biological or #Mutation, targeting restrictions still apply. If for some reason Luke Seti is an illegal target. The event will do nothing.

  • If the searched event doesn’t require targets, simply play it without paying its cost.

MAGELLAN APOTHEOSIS

  • This ability checks upon Resolution, if the character is not there when it resolves or if it no longer has 10 or more counters the ability does nothing.

MAGELLAN GRAVITY

  • This includes your opponent’s Magellan Cell Counters.

MERC RAPID RESPONSE STRIKE TEAM

  • You  still have to pay the cost of the event.

MICHAEL BASA, DATA OBFUSCATOR

  • If Basa deals more damage than the opponent has cards in hand. Simply discard as many as possible.

RAAMAA, INCARNATE HIERARCH

  • Raama’s ability to regenerate happens whenever she would be destroyed. The cost is to annihilate a characters and replaces that instance of destruction with giving her a +1 BQ counter. This does not use the stack and cannot be responded to.

SIREN

  • Siren’s additional cost is mandatory. If you cannot pay it. You cannot play Siren.

The Glass Man

  • You can return events that already have been resolved. Enabling you to reuse them.

  • If your opponent plays a moral assault event from your open market, you still own it hence it is a valid target for the glass man’s abilit.

XU HUANG, GNOST MONK

  • In Megacorp, always round up unless stated otherwise.

 

ERRATAS

 

MERC RAPID RESPONSE STRIKE TEAM

ABRUPT (Merc Rapid Response Strike Team can be deployed as if it was an event.)

When Deployed Search your main deck for an event with #Action and #military and reveal it. You may play it, if you don't place it at the bottom of your main deck

Upkeep 1M.

 

STREET

2M: Search your resource deck for a card named "STREET" and deploy it adjacent to this card without paying its cost, then shuffle your RESOURCE DECK

 

LUKE SETI, MEMADAPT

Put a -1BQ counter on your business: search your decks for an EVENT with #Biological or #mutation  with valuation equal to or lower than the number of -1BQ counters on your business. If you search a mutation deploy it  targeting Luke Seti without paying its cost. Otherwise, put the searched card in your hand. Use this ability only once per turn.

 

Sea, Lake, Dormant Volcano, Pluton, Desert, Mountain

When you deploy [CARDNAME], reveal the top card of your resource deck, you may buy that card if it is not a #Terrain.

 

PUBLIC HOLIDAY

Characters may not attack this turn.

Core Set Frequently asked questions

- Can a character attack himself?

No

- Can the Glass-man return any #moral or #assault card to his hand? Even the ones that aren't his (or has been his, but has been bought over from the open market)?

Yes but they go to owners hand

- In case of a draw (both players lose because of 0€ at the end of a turn), who loses?

No one, its a draw

- Can you buy an event from the open market in reaction to a divested card? To prevent the card being hidden by the divested card?

You cannot react to a card being divested

- Can you engage a card you don't own that's in your network to generate traits ?

No

- If a card is destroyed or returned to your hand in reaction to a buy-over. Does the buyer still have to pay for the card? (For example i buy a card from X for 2€, he blows it up so that i can't have it in reaction)

You cannot react to someone buying a card from you

- Precision states: Attack can't be blocked. Does the attacked card retaliate?

Yes

- Can any of your cards (like characters or others) attack other of your own cards?

Yes

- Can Magellan Cells be moved to cards that aren't characters with the ability

Yes

- Can you move a Magellan Cell counter with the ability of Gnost Cleric / Magellan Cell Migration which is on a card you don't control?

Yes

- Can you go negative with your money?

No

- When Buying a card with other cards bonded to it, do I just pay the valuation of the top card?

No. When you buy a card with other cards bonded to it in a pile, you must pay all the cost for every card bonded to it, including secondary/trait costs

- When SELLING a card with other cards bonded to it, do I only get the money value of the top card? 

No. When you sell a pile of cards, you will sell ALL the cards in the pile and gain the total monetary value of the pile.
